Don't worry about legally downloading; that's crap. Most of the stuff out there older than 50 years is free; do you think Mozart still gets paid for the sheet that someone downloads from the internet? No, that's bullshit.
If they have a copyright sign or it specifically says that it's copyright protected, then yes, the person below me is right.
