When something is marked as 8va...that means to play it an octave higher right?
I'm just making sure, because I've composed this song, and I'm writing it down, and I rather put 8va, than write it really high up on the bar lines, because I'm using higher notes, especially on the left hand.On piano sheet music....?
yeah, 8va means to play it an octave higher, but be sure to mark a dotted line over top of all of the parts that are supposed to be played 8va so that if anyone tries to play your song, they know when to go back down. Good luck with your composition. Be sure to email me the sheet music to your song if you scan it into your computer. I'd love to hear it!On piano sheet music....?
if you write the 8va above the notes it means to play an octave higher, 8va written below the notes means to play an octave lower.
8ves means 1 octave higher.
8va means 1 octave lower.
